We are currently seeking to employ a committed and motivated Health & Social Care Lecturer, to teach a range of Health and Social Care and Early Years units from programmes within the School of Caring Professions. The ideal candidate will develop and design appropriate learning materials for a variety of learners and act as Course Tutor or Programme Leader as required within the School and provide support and guidance to students and staff, as necessary. Essential requirements: Degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant subject area; Current teaching qualification to Level 5: Diploma in Education and Training/PGCE/Cert Ed (or working towards), experienced Health Professionals will be considered without this but must be willing to undertake the L5 teaching qualification within 12 months of the commencing this role; Health or Allied Health professional qualification and experience: e.g. Nurse, Midwife, Social Worker, Mental Health worker, Clinical Support Worker, Senior Care Worker/Trainer. Qualified to Level 2 (GCSE Grade A*-C or equivalent) in English and Maths; Recent relevant experience of teaching to a high standard in the FE sector, including 14-16 age range; and/or experience training staff/students in their Health or Care Setting; Good administrative skills with the ability to maintain accurate and relevant records in line with quality procedures; Excellent interpersonal skills and organisational skills; Interest and understanding of current educational initiatives; Ability to work flexibly and on own initiative to meet the needs of the College; Ability to motivate staff and work effectively as a team member; Ability to achieve consistently high standards under pressure; Willingness and ability to liaise effectively with external bodies and agencies; Willing to undertake professional development linked to the needs of the College; Computer literate Hours: 15 hours per week Salary: Main Grade Lecturer Scale, points 5-14 £24,743 – £35,204 per annum, pro rata to £10,030 – £14,271 per annum Closing date: Sunday 8 December 2024 This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly college in North Yorkshire with fantastic facilities, excellent CPD opportunities and a great working and learning environment.
