Job Brief

We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Trainer to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of our employees in various IT-related areas. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and deliver engaging training programs, ensuring our workforce is effectively equipped to utilise technology and align with the latest industry trends. This role demands a robust blend of technical expertise, training proficiency, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct IT skills gap analyses to identify educational needs and design appropriate training solutions.
  • Design and develop comprehensive training programs and materials, including technical manuals using simple language.
  • Deliver training sessions, workshops, and seminars on various IT topics to employees at different levels.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather and validate training content.
  • Utilise modern educational techniques and tools, including web-based learning platforms and gamification-based platforms.
  • Train employees on proper use of hardware, and software, and conduct regular organization-wide training on system security.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics, and adjust programs as needed.
  • Maintain updated records of training curricula and materials and review company policies on computer use and cybersecurity.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and support as needed, and assist in the implementation and adoption of new technologies.
  • Stay informed about new software releases, updates, and advancements to incorporate them into training programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an IT Trainer, Technical Trainer, or similar role.
  • Experience in designing technical course material and familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) like CanvasLMS and TalentLMS.
  • Strong knowledge in IT domains, including software applications, hardware, networks, cybersecurity, databases, and cloud computing.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts plainly.
  • Proficiency in instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
  • Ability to adapt training to different learning styles and skill levels.
  • Certification in training methodologies (e.g., Certified Technical Trainer) and industry certifications (e.g., MCT, CCNA, CEH) are highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation and critical thinking.
