Your experiences and learning are shaped over our 2-year rotational programme.

As part of our Apprentice Academy you’ll work across key business areas including Investment Management and Financial Planning as well as enabling functions that could include Human Resources, Marketing, or Tech & Change where you’ll be able to apply the learning from your apprenticeship to make valuable contributions whilst exploring various departments and learning where your skills and attributes are best suited.

You’ll learn both technical and professional skills, such as client service management and administration, alongside presentation and networking skills.

We’ll give you comprehensive training and support through not just your apprenticeship, but formal and informal learning experiences.

Mentorship to grow your skills, offer career development advice and see other perspectives.An emerging talent community, helping you to build your network and relationships across the business, with a ‘buddy’ on hand to support along the way.

At the end of your 2-year contract with us, if you’ve enjoyed your time with us and we’re impressed with your attitude and the skills you have developed, you will have the opportunity to apply for available client or non-client facing roles depending on your interests and skill set.

Location

Please be aware, there will be travel required between Edinburgh and Glasgow offices when spending time with teams on certain placements. Instances when travel is required to an office that is not your contractual base, Rathbones will cover this cost.

Your Apprentice Qualification

A Business Administrator Apprentice provides support to multiple teams within Rathbones as part of various rotational placements, ensuring smooth operations across departments and assisting with a variety of administrative and project-based tasks whilst working towards the Level 3 Business Administrator qualification.

You will study for the Level 3 Business Administrator Qualification via and apprenticeship, tuition for which is provided by BPP. As part of the apprenticeship 6 hours of your working week will be dedicated to this learning, with an expectation that study will also take place outside of working hours.

The apprenticeship will take you up to 18 months to complete, starting September 2025.

What Do I Need?

Five National 5s with grades A-C including English and Maths120 UCAS Points or equivalent in any subject such as A Levels/Scottish Highers, or a Foundation Apprenticeship.General awareness of the financial services and investment industry and a keen willingness to learn and progress within the sector.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong numerical competency.Ability to manage work and study, as you will be expected to complete your level 3 qualification within 18 months.
