Lecturer/Senior Lecturer - Pharmacy
- Employment Type: Full - time (35 hours a week)

- Remuneration: $123k - $172k base (+17% super and leave loading)

The Organisation
The School of Health Sciences at UNSW is rapidly expanding to service education agendas based on our four ground-breaking health professional education programs. These programs will see the scope of our teaching effort broaden significantly and shape the future Health workforce in Australia and beyond.
Why this role matters
This position plays a key role in the school making a significant contribution to the development and delivery of pharmacy education in the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Medicine / Master of Pharmacy program. As a teaching and research academic, there is expectation of ongoing research and emerging profile as an independent researcher.
We are open to appointing someone who has either a combined teaching and research focus or an education only focus. Please refer to the position descriptions for full details on both roles.
Some Key Skills Required
Level B – Education
- Registration with AHPRA as a pharmacist (highly desirable)
- PhD in pharmacy or related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in integrating the teaching of medicinal chemistry with therapeutics
- Demonstrated experience in learning and teaching/delivery of courses at an undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, evidence of teaching effectiveness
- Experience of implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods
- Demonstrated ability to integrate the teaching of pharmaceutical sciences with therapeutics and pharmacy practice
Level C – Education (in addition to the above)
- Significant experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, development and delivery of courses (subjects) and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Evidence of professional development in teaching and a strong track record of teaching excellence, including fostering this in others; with the ability to advance and lead an inclusive culture of excellence in learning and teaching.
- Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to attract funding for learning and teaching or other research initiatives
Level B – Teaching & Research
- A PhD in Pharmacy or other related discipline
- Registration with AHPRA as a pharmacist in Australia (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in integrating the teaching of medicinal chemistry with therapeutics
- Experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, development and delivery of courses and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate the teaching of pharmaceutical sciences with therapeutics and pharmacy practice
- Experience of implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods
- Research outputs commensurate with a strong performing early career researcher.
Level C – Teaching & Research (in addition to the above)
- Significant experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, development and delivery of courses and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Apply a well-defined teaching philosophy and a critically reflective practice that inspires student learning.
- Attract peer recognition and establish research network/s (based on the norms of the discipline) at national level.
- Obtain research income from nationally competitive research grants (and/or research fellowships) and research end-users as a member or leader (may include education research/funding), at or above the level that is relevant to the discipline in leading universities.
