The Upholstery Trainer at DFS is responsible for providing comprehensive training in all aspects of upholstery. Key duties include assessing and identifying the skills required at each stage of the upholstery process, evaluating the current skill levels of staff, and addressing any skill gaps.
The role involves training individuals to meet high standards of quality and technique, collaborating with the development team on new model introductions, and enhancing operational flexibility by ensuring staff are proficient in all aspects of upholstery.
The role also focuses on accelerating the development program through increased training opportunities.

What you'll be doingAll aspects of upholstery training including:
- Identifying skills required at each stage of upholstery including correct prepping techniques
- Assess current skill levels at each stage of upholstery
- Identify and rectify skill shortages in current staff population
- Train individuals to the required standards with a strong focus on quality and technique
- Work closely with with development team to assist with new model introduction and training
- Increasing operational flexibility by training staff to be able to cover all aspects of upholstery
- Accelerating the development program through increased training provision
The role is for you if...- You hold at least 5 years of upholstery knowledge and experience
- Proven training experience
- Ability to ensure training meets the necessary standards
- Strong communication skills
- A focus on maintaining high-quality standards
