Job Title: Academic Mentor
We are seeking an exceptional Academic Mentor to join our team at LSA SEN Outstanding School in Bridgwater. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students aged 5-18 who may have experienced trauma, autism, or learning disabilities.
As an Academic Mentor, you will work closely with students to provide tailored support and ensure their educational needs are met. Your role will involve building strong relationships with students, parents, and teaching staff to create a supportive learning environment.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to the diverse needs of our students. You will be passionate about education and committed to helping students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
About the Role:
- Provide individualized support to students to meet their educational needs
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to develop personalized learning plans
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements
- Attend regular meetings with parents and teachers to discuss student progress
Requirements:
- GCSEs or equivalent in English and Math
- Experience working with children with special educational needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
