The Opportunity:
The Hospital for Small Animals at the University of Edinburgh is looking to recruit a dedicated and talented veterinary surgeon to join our Rabbit, Exotic and Wildlife Medicine and Surgery. Working in a multidisciplinary environment, you will join a team of two Diplomats, a residency-trained clinician, two ECZM residents and two interns. You will be supported by teams of specialists in multiple other disciplines, including anaesthesia neurology, emergency and critical care, internal medicine and oncology among others, and our nursing and support teams. There is an opportunity to lead the service for the right candidate.
You will play an important role in the provision of the clinical service that supports our caseload, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes, and our globally leading research. You will be provided with the support and time you require to develop your clinical interests, teaching and research ambitions.
Your skills and attributes for success:
• An enthusiasm for all aspects of Rabbit, Exotic and Wildlife Medicine and Surgery.
• A motivation to deliver the highest standards of clinical care.
• ECZM boarded (Senior Lecturer) or board eligible (considered at Lecturer grade).
• An enthusiasm for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
• Proven experience of successful leadership (Senior Lecturer).
• Desirable: Postgraduate degree, diploma or doctorate.
