The Division of Accounting and Finance at AMBS is one of the leading, and also one of the largest, accounting and finance units in Europe and the world, with an outstanding track record of excellence in research and teaching. The Division has considerable research strengths in the areas of auditing and accountability, financial reporting, management accounting, and market-based accounting as well as theoretical and empirical asset pricing and corporate finance, and has an enduring commitment to knowledge development and policy engagement, having long-standing connections with the business, financial and public sectors. The Division is seeking to appoint an outstanding candidate with a Teaching and Scholarship focus at the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level in any area of Accounting and/or Finance. We especially welcome candidates with expertise to teach financial reporting, taxation and/or auditing related courses, candidates with industry experience and candidates with the ability to teach on MBA and executive education programmes.
This post requires the successful candidate to:
- Contribute to the development and delivery of excellent teaching in and across the general area of accounting and/or finance.
- Contribute to ongoing teaching and, when relevant, engagement activities in the discipline area of accounting and/or finance within the Division. We are particularly interested in applicants with the potential to contribute to the Division’s outreach activities in terms of establishing, developing and maintaining links with the professional accountancy firms and financial investment firms;
- Contribute to the pastoral and academic supervision of students.
- Undertake other academic and administrative duties as required by the Head of Division.
For senior lecturer additionally:
- Provide academic leadership to those working within programme areas, as programme director or equivalent;
Applicants must hold a relevant doctoral degree and/or a professional accounting qualification, have demonstrable experience of high-quality teaching with the ability to carry out both online and face-to-face on-campus teaching, along with excellent oral and written communication skills.
