About The Role
The Department of Social and Policy Sciences is seeking a teaching-focused Lecturer in International Development, to provide teaching cover for temporary staff absence.
The Department of Social and Policy Science (DSPS) is one of the UK’s leading centres for social policy-oriented research and teaching excellence. We are committed to interdisciplinary and impactful research. Our academic staff represent a range of disciplinary backgrounds, including social and public policy, sociology, social work, international development, and criminology. We have a vibrant research community of academic staff, postgraduate students, and research staff.

About You
You will join a collegiate teaching team and help deliver our International Development undergraduate degree. The role will involve convening units, setting and marking assessments, delivering lectures, serving as an Academic Tutor and /or providing supervisory support to our undergraduate dissertation students. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with teaching experience and/or research interests in:
- Civil society and social movements: Global Perspectives
- International Development: Political Perspectives

This role is offered on a part time (10 hours per week, 0.27 FTE ) fixed term basis with an expected end date of 31/07/2025.
