The Post Holder Will Develop An Innovative Chemistry-driven Programme Across Disciplines. We Particularly Welcome Applications From Researchers In The Following Areas
- Cutting-edge approaches for automation and miniaturisation of chemistry or spectroscopy as well as other enabling tools for data-driven chemistry.
- Innovative solutions in green and sustainable chemistry, including but not limited to polymer chemistry; (bio)electrochemistry; next generation biocatalysis.
- Creative development and implementations of computational chemistry across the theory/experiment divide and the collaborative spirit to facilitate such interdisciplinary programmes in the department and with external stakeholders.
Additionally the appointees will be expected to either develop and introduce automated robotic laboratory techniques or an increase in computational chemistry labs plus associated lectures, workshops and assessment to complement these.
Each role will be supported by a laboratory technician and will provide a framework for building and maintaining an innovative and cutting-edge laboratory course and equipping students with key skills sought in industry and academia.
The role holder will help in the development and implementation of departmental strategy, providing leadership, fostering talents of staff and students and a friendly, supportive departmental culture which values collegiality and good citizenship. They will mentor and inspire early career staff and nurture skills and ambitions of their research group.
This is a full-time (35 hours per week) post, and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
