Position: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Computing
Location: ON-SITE, Leeds, UK
Salary: £30K - £55K per annum (Based on experience and qualifications)

Responsibilities
As a Senior Lecturer, you will take on additional responsibilities that are essential to our academic environment, including:

Programme Development and Oversight:
- Play a key role in developing, managing, and reviewing academic programs within your area.
- Evaluate and provide support to colleagues to elevate the quality of education.
Research and Professional Development:
- Engage in advanced research activities, contributing to ESL's academic profile and remaining current with field advancements.
- Participate actively in ESL's research programs to cultivate a culture of innovation.
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute to continuous improvement in teaching and learning standards, implementing self-assessment processes.
- Assist in developing and executing quality improvement strategies.
External Engagement and Partnerships:
- Enhance relationships with external stakeholders, industry partners, and employers to enrich the student experience.
- Represent ESL at external forums, promoting the institution's reputation.
- Deliver top-quality teaching across various programs, focusing on the foundation year in your discipline.
- Tutor students, providing dedicated support to help them reach their academic objectives.
- Actively contribute to the development and ongoing improvement of courses in collaboration with staff and students.
- Assist in creating module/unit-specific Schemes of Work.
- Develop module materials for relevant courses.
- Deliver subject-specific sessions focused on achieving learning outcomes.
- Implement assessments as guided by the assessment team.
- Identify and address the learning needs of students.
- Provide timely formative feedback according to program specifications.
- Grade assessments and offer summative feedback by established deadlines.
- Ensure adherence to Programme Specifications set by relevant Awarding Bodies.
- Compile module/unit reports as necessary.
- Effectively communicate with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Engage in the School's Research Department activities.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential
- Doctoral qualification in a relevant subject area (Senior Lecturer only).
- At least 4 years of teaching experience at the HE level in the UK (Senior Lecturer).
- Master's degree in a relevant field (minimum requirement for Lecturer).
- Prior lecturing experience in similar higher education courses.
- Proficient in using Blackboard/VLEs, MS Teams, and Zoom.
- PhD in a related field (Senior Lecturer only).
- Native English speaker or possess a valid IELTS 7.5 Academic Certification.
- Ability to develop and oversee program plans and assess colleagues' work.
- Effective communication skills with senior education professionals.
- Capability to build strong teacher/learner relationships with students.
Desirable
- A teaching qualification such as FHEA or PGCHE, showing commitment to teaching excellence.
- A deep understanding of cross-cultural and interpersonal relationship dynamics.
- Advanced communication and presentation skills.
