About The OM Group
The OM Group, a leader in the construction sector, has evolved from a health and safety consultancy into a multi-disciplinary consultancy and training powerhouse. Our journey is marked by a commitment to safety, quality, and innovation, as we strive to add substantial value to every construction project, from conception to completion.
At The OM Group, we’re more than a training provider. We want to be the voice of change in the construction industry. We’re a people-first organisation dedicated to empowering individuals and businesses to grow and succeed. With a focus on delivering high-quality training and development solutions, we work closely with clients across the UK, creating positive change through learning. Our friendly, collaborative culture ensures that every team member feels supported, valued, and inspired to do their best work.
About the Role
We’re looking for skilled individuals to join our dynamic Learning & Development team. Whether you’re an experienced Trainer, Trainer & Assessor, or Trainer Assessor IQA, we have exciting opportunities for you.
In these roles, you’ll deliver high-quality training to external clients, supporting their professional growth while meeting qualification standards. Depending on the role, experience and qualifications, you’ll also conduct assessments and, where applicable, perform internal quality assurance (IQA) activities.
Additionally, we work with our clients to create bespoke learning, tailored to their needs. This means our Trainers will have the opportunity to go beyond those qualification frameworks to deliver engaging, practical training that gives them space to use their creativity and experience to bring subjects to life.
We’re open to candidates with varying levels of experience:
- Trainers: Deliver engaging and impactful training sessions.
- Trainer Assessors: Combine training delivery with learner assessment.
- Trainer Assessor IQAs: Deliver training, conduct assessments, and ensure quality assurance.
You’ll have the flexibility to deliver training in-person or virtually. This includes some roles that deliver training exclusively online in virtual classrooms.
What you’ll be doing (Dependent on Role):
- Training Delivery: Facilitate engaging and interactive sessions in classroom or virtual environments.
- Assessment: Evaluate learners against qualification standards (for Trainer Assessors and IQAs).
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain the consistency of assessments (for IQAs).
- Learner Support: Provide guidance, feedback, and coaching to help learners achieve their goals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
We value a range of skills and experiences. You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Have experience in learning & development, training, or teaching delivery (this could be in a business setting / in the employment skills sector, or in education).
- Have a passion for teaching, coaching, and inspiring others.
- Are organised, adaptable, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Hold relevant qualifications (see below), or are eager to pursue them with our support.
Relevant qualifications include:
· L&D, training, or teaching qualifications (e.g., AET, CET, L&D Practitioner, Training NVQs, CIPD specialising in Learning).
· Assessor qualifications (e.g., CAVA or equivalent).
· IQA qualifications.
Why join The OM Group?
- Be Valued: We recognise and reward your expertise and contributions.
- Grow With Us: Access professional development opportunities to expand your skills.
- Work Flexibly: With a range of opportunities available your role could be one of many, including hybrid, home or office based, delivering training virtually or in classrooms and workplaces across the UK.
- Make an Impact: Play a key role in transforming lives and the construction industry through learning.
Our Recruitment Process
We like to keep things simple and straightforward. Here’s what to expect:
- Send your CV and a covering letter saying why you’d like to be considered and how you’re a good match for the role.
- Introductory Call: A relaxed chat with one of our team members to get to know each other.
- Experience & Fit Meeting: Some might call this an interview, we think of it as a conversation. It’s a chance to talk about your skills and what you’d bring to The OM Group — and a chance for you to ask questions too!
- Showcase your skills: As part of the process, you’ll have the opportunity to deliver a short ‘micro-teach’ to show off your skills, knowledge and experience.
