- Use a variety of teaching methods, including interactive and technology-enhanced learning tools, to support different learning styles and ensure student engagement.
- Provide instruction in a range of contexts, including one-on-one sessions, small group tutorials, and classroom settings.
Curriculum Development & Review:

- Provide targeted support for students preparing for English language exams, including IELTS or other required qualifications, and work to improve their exam performance.
- Develop individual learning plans (ILPs) for students, setting realistic goals and milestones to ensure progress in their language development.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to help students adjust to life in the UK, addressing any cultural or language barriers.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement:
- Ensure that ESOL programmes comply with UKMC’s quality assurance standards and contribute to the overall academic goals of the institution.
- Engage in regular course evaluations, using student feedback and performance data to inform continuous improvement of teaching methods and course content.
- Prepare and participate in internal and external audits related to English language teaching, ensuring the programme meets national standards and best practices.
Collaboration with Academic Departments:
- Work closely with other academic staff, including course leaders and tutors, to integrate language support with students’ main academic programmes.
- Liaise with departments to identify students who may require additional ESOL support and ensure timely intervention.
- Contribute to cross-departmental initiatives aimed at enhancing language proficiency across the college, including workshops, study skills sessions, and collaborative learning projects.

Community & Student Engagement:
- Organise and facilitate language support events, such as language practice clubs, writing workshops, and conversation groups to foster an immersive learning environment.
- Encourage and promote the use of English in both academic and social settings, helping students integrate more fully into the college community.
- Support and guide students in adapting to the cultural and linguistic challenges they may face while studying and living in the UK.
