Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outsanding and highly motivated Generalist Lecturer to deliver a high-quality curriculum across the South West Region.
This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week.
Within the South West Region, we are the education provider in 8 prisons, and we currently have vacancies for the following cluster:
Dorset Cluster: HMP Guys Marsh, HMP Portland, HMP The Verne.
As this is a regional role, you will need to hold a full driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.
Day to day duties
- Organisational and administrative work.
- Preparation, assessment and marking.
- Developing and maintaining a full course file including comprehensive scheme of learning and lesson planning.
- Developing and completing ILPs and contextual statements to monitor individual learner progress.
Requires skills and qualifications
- A Degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work.
- All candidates for teaching posts must possess a recognised Teaching Qualification, or be prepared to gain this within the first two years of service, with the assistance of the College.
- Knowledge and experiance of current teaching and learning strategies.
- Excellent team working, communication and interpersonal skills.
