Listening Support Coach
Location: Redwoods Shrewsbury
Salary: £13.64 ph.
Contract Type: Part-time, 9 months fixed term.
Hours of work:
Monday to Sunday - 18:00 to 00:00, open to job share.
Saturday and Sunday - 12:00 to 18:00.

Are you passionate about supporting individuals struggling with their mental health? Do you have strong listening skills and a compassionate approach? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Listening Support Coach.
About the Role
As a Support Coach, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Access Service by providing additional listening time and emotional support to individuals reaching out to the 111 service for advice and guidance regarding their mental well-being. You will help ensure that service users receive the care and direction they need by offering signposting and appropriate community referrals.
This role is based at The Redwoods Centre working alongside the Access Team and is a 9-month pilot in the first instance.
Key Responsibilities
• Offer emotional support and active listening to individuals contacting the 111-service due to concerns about their mental health.
• Identify and provide appropriate community referrals and signposting to relevant services.
• Promote local listening and sanctuary services to help individuals access further support within their locality.
• Accurately record data and maintain detailed notes to ensure service user information is correctly documented.
• Attend mandatory training sessions and team meetings to stay up to date with best practices and service developments.
What We’re Looking For
• Experience in mental health support, coaching, or a similar role is essential. Lived experience desirable.
• Strong communication and active listening skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and able to work effectively with individuals experiencing distress.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and external agencies.
• Organised and detail-oriented with the ability to record information accurately.
• Willingness to attend training and development sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Good IT skills.
