The apprenticeship Floor coverings Tutor is responsible for the delivery of the floor laying level 2 apprenticeship, assessing level 1 and 2 accreditations at the flooring academy, and occasional onsite NVQ assessments.
The successful candidate will be fully supported to successfully deliver Floorcoverings training and learning for the following units:
· Sub-floor preparations
· Domestic and commercial textile installations
· LVT installations
· Domestic and Commercial sheet and tile resilient installations
· Estimating and calculating resources for sub floor preparations and flooring installations
· Preparing apprentices for their End Point Assessments.
The Flooring Academy @ CP Assessments Ltd is a national provider of Apprenticeships, National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs), Commercial floor coverings courses and Accreditations. The successful candidate will undertake the following main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Preparations including session planning, development of resources, both physical and with technology.
· Developing individual learning plans initially and during the programme delivery to ensure learning outcomes are successfully met and achieved.
· Carrying out training and assessments using a variety of different methods as part of the delivery of qualifications, and apprenticeship
· To work closely with employers providing effective feedback and inclusive practice.
· To upload and track all learning through CP Assessments bespoke online system.
· Update learner records to ensure effective delivery and communication.
· Attend and participate in standardisation as planned / or required.
· Follow safeguarding policies and procedures, reporting as required to the safeguarding team.
· Effectively promote positive learner welfare and wellbeing.
· Complete relevant compliance documentation and administration.
· Ensure that all company policies and procedures are adhered and complied to including Safeguarding, Equality Equity and Inclusion, Health & Safety, Quality Assurance.
· Carry out on site assessments in the workplace online with occupational standards and that required by the awarding body.
· Assess candidates ensuring valid and reliable evidence is recorded and tracked against the criteria of qualifications.
· Carry out regular continuous professional development, CPD to ensure practices are high quality, up to date and effective.
· Report to the curriculum manager, regards learner progress, behaviours, development of resources, session planning, assessments and quality assurance aspects.
· Maintain resources, equipment and learning areas.
· Uphold the continuous high standards that are expected by CP Assessments and all stakeholders.
Ideally the candidate will possess the following Skills, Experience and Qualities:
· Desire to up-skill and learn
· Relevant experience and competence in the Floorcoverings sector
· Experience of training and assessing in construction, or the willingness to learn
· Good computer skills, using software.
· Experience of teaching/training in a workplace environment
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong attention to detail
· Able to follow processes
· Work well under pressure
· Full UK driving licence and use of own car, prepared to travel
The ideal candidate will either possess or be willing to study towards the following qualifications:
A valid teaching qualification at a minimum of Level 3 award in education and training
Recognised NVQ Assessor Qualification e.g. CAVA or TAQA
Level 2 NVQ qualification for Floorcoverings occupations
Maths and English qualifications at Level 2 or above.
