An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Engineering Department for a highly motivated Trainer Assessor.
Applicants are invited from Engineering specialisms such as Motor vehicle engineering and maintenance and repair of light and electric vehicles, with welding skills as we are seeking to appoint a Trainer Assessor to support our Motor vehicle engineering programme area.
You should have a significant recent motor vehicle related industrial experience and a good understanding of vehicle engine systems (cooling and lubrication), chassis systems (brakes, suspension and steering) transmission systems (manual and automatic), electrical and electrical system, hybrid and electric vehicle principles, vehicle diagnostics and repair, with a good working knowledge of light vehicles.
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable; and some experience of welding would also be desirable; however, you must be a team player; be motivated to improve the quality of the student experience and adopt a proactive flexible approach.
In this role you will be training school leavers from level 1 to level 3.
The successful candidate will:
- Hold level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths
- Level 3 Light Vehicle Diagnostic and Repair Vocational Qualification
- Knowledge of Health and Safety and or a IOSH qualification
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate relevant industrial experience, with the confidence to work on your own initiative, teaching skill in motor vehicle engineering and maintaining motor vehicle engineering equipment and resources, liaising with suppliers to orders supplies / resources, setting up demonstrations and supporting other teaching staff, conducting practical sessions with delivery of skills to learners, with an awareness of Health & Safety regulations appropriate to the motor vehicle engineering environment, to work with the team to undertake relevant risk assessments.
