We are looking for two Lead Trainers to support the national rollout of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism. This is a pivotal role in delivering high-quality training and supporting a team of facilitators and Experts by Lived Experience (EBLE).
This role is open to applicants based in the South East, Essex, Somerset, South West, Devon, Hertfordshire, and Manchester, with travel potentially required outside these areas.
Salary: Pro rata, equivalent to £41,600 full-time.
Preferred: Already be certified as a Lead Oliver McGowan Trainer.
About the Role
As a Lead Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering learning disability and autism training to professionals in health and social care. You will also take on a facilitator role, ensuring high-quality co-delivery with Experts by Lived Experience. Additionally, you will train new members of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training (OMMT) delivery team as part of a Train-the-Trainer programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality training on learning disability and autism to health and social care professionals.
- Support and mentor Experts by Lived Experience who co-deliver training.
- Train new facilitators and Experts by Lived Experience within the OMMT programme.
- Ensure quality assurance of training sessions and evaluate participant feedback.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of legislation, best practices, and current issues in the field of autism and learning disabilities.
- Adapt training delivery styles to engage diverse audiences and meet learning needs.
What We Are Looking For
Essential Criteria
- Specialist knowledge of learning disability and autism, with relevant experience in health or social care.
- Experience in training delivery, including working with Experts by Lived Experience.
- Knowledge of current trends, legislation, and best practices in the social care sector.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Experience in managing training programmes, including quality assurance and evaluation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a national team.
- Competency with Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel for training delivery.
Desirable Criteria
- A recognised teaching or training qualification (e.g., CIPD, DTLLS, or equivalent).
- Understanding of the public sector and NHS structures.
- Experience in developing training materials and team development activities.
- Ability to write reports and briefing papers.
