The job in a nutshellThe role will provide the successful candidate a Payroll Administrator apprenticeship, Level 3. This will start with an initial 18-month training course with all training costs covered by Berry Bros. & Rudd. You’ll provide payroll & system administration support and advice to the People team and colleagues of Berry Bros. & Rudd. Working within the People team, supporting an employee population of circa 400. You’ll work in collaboration with the Compensation & Benefits Business Partner to deliver an accurate and timely payroll. Prior payroll experience desirable but not essential, you’ll also provide support to the wider People team in terms of administration duties.
Who you will work withInternal: People Team and all Berry Bros. & Rudd colleagues
External: 3rd party brokers, payroll, and benefits providers
What you will do- Managing the monthly payroll process, from submission to third party payroll provider (ADP) to approval of final pay file
- Supporting employees with pay queries and e-payslip queries
- Administering the Private medical insurance, cycle to work scheme, childcare voucher scheme and other Company schemes
- Maintaining the People systems (both Success Factors and SAP) data integrity and running period end processes - with the support of the Applications Support Analyst
- Working with the IT support team to resolve issues relating to access issues
- Ensure compliance with all statutory payroll and benefits legislation
- Ensure that timely information is available for the people team related to compensation and benefits
- Generating letters on behalf of the People Business Partners (maternity leave, references, resignation letters)
- Maintaining employee records and people files
- Providing off-boarding support to ensure that colleagues have a good exit from the business
- Working closely with other colleagues across the People team ensuring delivery of high-quality customer service, supporting them as required according to service demands
- Any other ad-hoc duties as required
What you will bring to the roleExperience / Achievements- Prior Payroll experience desirable
- Experience of inputting and maintaining HR data systems (ideally SuccessFactors)
- Experience of providing excellent administrative support
- Experience of working in an operational and process-based office role
- Experience of working within a pro-active and fast-paced team
