Role Overview
We are seeking a creative and passionate Art and Design Lecturer to join our team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching across a range of art and design subjects, including fine art, graphic design, fashion, and digital media. This role involves developing engaging lessons, fostering student creativity, assessing progress, and contributing to the academic development of our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver inspiring and effective teaching in various art and design subjects, including fine art, design principles, graphic design, and digital media
- Develop, update, and implement course materials in line with academic standards and industry trends
- Assess student performance and provide constructive, timely feedback to support their learning and growth
- Encourage students to explore their creative potential and develop their personal artistic style
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the curriculum through collaboration with colleagues
- Stay informed about developments in art and design, ensuring that course content is relevant and up-to-date
Key Requirements
- A degree in Art, Design, Fine Art, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed) or a commitment to obtaining one
- Proven experience in teaching art and design at a post-secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge in various art and design disciplines
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- A passion for teaching and nurturing creativity in students
Desirable Skills
- Experience in teaching art and design at various levels (e.g., GCSE, A-level, vocational, higher education)
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms and modern teaching methods
- Knowledge of contemporary art and design trends and practices
