The SMB College Group is a highly successful FE college, formed of two merged and reputable colleges – Stephenson College and Brooksby Melton College. Specialising in land-based, technical, trade and creative arts, we provide an extensive curriculum from Agriculture to Animal Care, Construction to Sport, Hair & Beauty to Care. We are an innovative and highly responsive centre for education and training with campuses in Coalville, Melton Mowbray and Brooksby. SMB College Group work with some fantastic industry partners to ensure they provide the skills needed now and in the future.
The SMB Group is benefiting from the DFE funding to be able to transform the college facilities and provide brand new resources for the Landbased department.
We are looking for an experienced assessor working within in the land-based sector, with experience and knowledge of either Agriculture, Forestry or Arboriculture to join the SMB Group.
Using your specialist knowledge, skills and experience you will train, coach and inspire our Land-based apprentices to become successful and ready for industry. Fully certified with Working knowledge and experience of chainsaw and forestry operations, professional standard of tree and shrub identification skills, Commitment towards ongoing CPD.
The role will incorporate onsite visits to carry out observations and progress reviews, planning, tracking, marking and admin work. The successful candidate will also train and support the apprentices during their college training days.
