National Grid is hiring an Apprenticeships Manager for our Technical Training department. This position can be located in either Eakring, Tipton, or Taunton.
The Apprenticeships Manager will Ensure the quality and compliance related to the delivery of the apprenticeship schemes for engineering programmes. Oversee various aspects of apprenticeship delivery, from stakeholder engagement, compliance with regulatory bodies to quality improvement initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
• Act as the nominee for Ofsted inspections, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and actively contributing to the inspection process.
• Oversee the creation of the self-assessment report and quality improvement plan to enhance the overall quality of apprenticeship programs.
• Lead efforts to maintain compliance with the Apprenticeship Providers and Assessment Register (APAR).
• Lead stakeholder governance meetings, including the Apprentice Governing Board and Excellence Committee to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
• Ensure standardisation across apprenticeship programmes, collaborating with academia to maintain high-quality provision. Engage in regular stakeholder meetings to foster strong relationships and align program delivery with academic expectations.
• Ensure adherence to the terms of the MSP contract, confirming that all required elements are obtained as per the agreement.
• Responsible for Apprentice Learner Voice, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Attend relevant external workshops and sessions to stay informed about industry trends and standards.
• Accountable for accreditation processes and engage with Professional Recognition Groups (PRGs) to enhance programme recognition.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure apprenticeship requirements are met, providing necessary support and Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
• Collect apprentice survey feedback and produce comprehensive reports, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
• Ensure quality of training delivery by quantitative and qualitative feedback, ensuring training and learning observations are carried out to the required standard.
About You
• Proven leadership experience in managing apprenticeship programmes, preferably in the utility or related industry.
• In-depth knowledge of apprenticeship standards, regulatory frameworks, and safeguarding policies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
What You'll Get
A competitive salary between £61,000 – 80,000 – dependent on capability
As well as your base salary, you will receive a company car, a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
