The role:
As a Learner Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in promoting and implementing Corndel's learner support policy, training staff on neurodiversity, and ensuring inclusive educational practices that give all learners equal chances to thrive.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide administrative support for the Cognassist process across all Corndel's apprenticeship provisions, ensuring apprentices' learning needs are met.
- Enhance engagement in learning support/Cognassist to maximize learner impact and funding income for apprentices declaring learning needs.
- Maintain effective communication with departments at Corndel and represent external stakeholders regarding apprenticeship learning support/Cognassist.
Key activities:
- Promote the significance of learner support within the organization.
- Foster positive perceptions of neurodiversity to diminish stigma surrounding learning needs.
- Facilitate learners' access to Cognassist by overseeing neurodiversity assessment completions.
- Provide personalized learning plans for learners with additional needs.
- Conduct one-on-one sessions with learners to discuss results and devise strategies to support their neurodiversity.
- Adapt to changes in funding regulations concerning apprenticeships.
- Create tailored interactive resources to engage learners in achieving their English and Maths targets.
- Collaborate with Coaches and Tutors to empower them with strategies to assist learners effectively.
- Deliver training sessions on study techniques and monitor learner attendance while liaising with relevant personnel.
- Achieve a monthly engagement target of 45 sessions per Corndel KPIs.
Training:
- Ensure operational staff possess knowledge of the learner support process and neurodiversity concepts.
- Conduct training sessions to equip staff with tools for supporting learners with neurodiversity needs.
- Act as an ambassador for the Cognassist product, conveying its advantages to both staff and learners.
Compliance:
- Keep the Cognassist system updated in collaboration with the Contracts Team.
- Maintain accurate records within Aptem for effective data reporting.
- Safeguard the welfare of all learners and colleagues.
- Preserve confidentiality regarding company information.
- Ensure documentation systems reflect learners' progression accurately.
- Regularly report on progress to the Learner Support Coordinator and Director of Skills for Business.

Experience and Skills:
Essential:
- Qualifications related to learner support needs (e.g., dyslexia, ADHD).
- Experience supporting learners with adjustments for learning needs.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Experience working with diverse learner levels.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with Cognassist and related software.
- Qualifications in Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG).
- Knowledge of reasonable adjustment policies.
- Experience applying various support strategies.
