About the Role
You will be responsible for the development and delivery of high-qualityteaching at postgraduate level in avionic systems design and integration andworld leading research in areas of interest relevant to future aerospaceindustry requirements. Our academics are supported and encouraged to buildtheir research teams and wider networks through successful research fundingapplications. The role is challenging and involves planning, integrating andcoordinating diverse responsibilities in research, consultancy, projectmanagement, teaching and research student supervision.
About You
For this opportunity, we are looking for a suitably qualified and experiencedindividual, and actively encourage applicants from industry (aerospace) orthose with related industry experience who wish to develop their career in anenvironment which provides a greater degree of personal autonomy with respectto research activities than is commonly found in an industrial environment.Experience of high impact, cross-disciplinary and industrially relevantresearch will be advantageous. At the Senior Lecturer level, we expect thecandidate to provide leadership, such as in course management, businessdevelopment, preparing large funding bids, acting as a Principal Investigatoron large, funded research projects and managing collaborative networks ofresearchers linked with industry.
You will be educated to doctoral level in a relevant subject or haveequivalent extensive industry experience. With a track record and solidexperience of R&D related to Avionics design or systems together with evidenceof collaborative working with other discipline specialists, you will also havethe ability to develop business opportunities and attract income.
With excellent communication & influencing skills, you will ideally haveteaching experience at postgraduate level and professional developmentcourses. Highly computer literate, expertise in programming would be ideal.
