Provide change assurance management expertise to the Airports business through the application of the NATS Safety Management Processes. Provide assurance to GM Safety for the delivery of technical and/or procedural changes to the ATM system. To support NATS Airports commercial activities with safety assurance bid solutions and support the delivery of those solutions.
What you'll do:
- Provide expert guidance and advice in support of Airport Operations, NATS Airport Commercial activities, covering both technical and Airspace change, to ensure that locally generated or project related procedural changes are delivered safely
- Provide support and expertise to GM Safety in oversight and approval changes to the Airport residual risk register, including proposals to mitigate and reduce the residual risk contained within Airport Safety Cases
- Act as Business Process Expert and manage the Unit Safety Case processes to provide the correct level of challenge to our Airport Units and provide assurance to the GM Safety
- Act as Business Process Expert to manage the Operational Acceptance Panel process, provide the correct level of challenge to our Airport Units and feedback to the GM Safety
- Maintain knowledge of the Airport Operational Systems to determine the safety impact of operational ATC and Engineering issues
- Lead workshops with Subject Matter Experts to identify safety hazards and the elicitation of mitigating and derived requirements that together form the safety & assurance requirements for a project change, ensuring that they are suitable for the Airport operation
- Ensuring assurance activities for allocated projects comply with the NATS Business and Safety Management Systems
- Ensure all standards conform to best practice and are proportionate to the level of risk
- You will be required to co‐ordinate and interface with multiple functional areas and groups
Who you’ll be:
- You will have a numerate background, hold an Engineering, Science, or Mathematics qualification to HNC/HND level or equivalent professional qualifications or have undertaken structured Engineering training (e.g. CAA Bletchley or apprenticeship) and extensive engineering experience will be considered
- You will be expected to have experience of a single assurance related discipline, such as safety, security, business continuity, human factors and safety related software development
- You will be effective at communicating technical and/or operational concepts, working in a multi-disciplined environment, both verbally and written, at all levels of the business
- Working knowledge of Airports engineering and ATC procedures is desirable
- Experience in the practice of regulation and with regulatory bodies
- Knowledge of the Airport Operational Systems sufficient to determine the safety impact of operational ATC and Engineering issues
- A comprehensive understanding of the relationship between the NATS Airport technical platform and ATM procedures would be beneficial
- Knowledge of current engineering principles, practice, safety standards, understanding of existing and future safety related ATC systems
- Practical experience working with multi‐disciplined teams and subject matter experts for the delivery of assurance for implementing changes to the NATS operation
