Salary £25,000 - £27,500 (depending on experience)
About Us: Thermal Insulation Contractors Association (TICA) is the Trade Association representing the Thermal Insulation Industry as well as being the sole UK Apprenticeship Training Provider for Thermal Insulation Apprenticeships. TICAs National Training Centre is based in Darlington and includes a large state of the art 2-story workshop and facilities that welcome hundreds of Apprentices each year to complete block release training.
Position Overview: The Apprenticeship Quality Coach will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of our apprenticeship programs. They will work closely with the workshop team to develop a comprehensive understanding of the Thermal Insulation Industry and Apprenticeship journey at Level 2 and Level 3 for both English and Scottish funded learners. The role will include the planning and conducting of apprentice reviews, overseeing the timely and compliant completion of Off the Job logs and supporting with assessment of written work with the Apprentice online portfolios.
Applicants should have an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and flexible approach to work and a passion for working with young people and adult learners. This role would be suited to those who already have experience working in a Further Education or general education setting in a pastoral, support or assessing capacity. We do however also welcome applications from those with no prior experience.
Full training for the role will be provided on the job and where appropriate the opportunity to undergo formal qualifications that link to the job role e.g. Level 3 Assessor Award.
Person Specification:
• Able to take instructions and open to learning new skills, knowledge and behaviour.
• Works well as part of a team and independently.
• Organised, flexible, and the ability to prioritises tasks and manage workloads efficiently.
• IT literate. Knowledge or experience of Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel.
• Experience of using online learner portfolio systems would be advantageous (e.g. OneFile, Smart Assessor, Pro Monitor etc.)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and documentation.
Specific Duties:
Reporting to the Curriculum Manager you will:
• Plan and Conduct Apprentice Reviews: Organise and carry out regular reviews with apprentices and their employers to monitor progress and provide feedback.
• Oversee & Support with Off the Job Compliance: Ensure that Off the Job logs are completed accurately and comply with quality and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with workshop team: Work with the workshop team to gain a thorough understanding of the Thermal Insulation Industry and the Apprenticeship journey at Level 2 and Level 3.
• Support with Assessment: Assist in the assessment of written tasks in the learner portfolio, providing constructive feedback to apprentices.
• Quality Assure: Maintain high standards of quality and compliance across all apprenticeship programs.
• Support Learners: Provide guidance and support to apprentices, helping them to achieve their learning goals and succeed in their assessments.
General Duties:
• Provide general administrative and clerical support in line with day-to-day office requirements e.g. answering phone calls.
• Attend and input into staff meetings.
Qualifications & Experience (preferred but not essential)
• 5 GCSEs at 4-9 (A* - C) including maths and English
• Teaching and/or assessing qualification at Level 3 or above
• Training/qualification in Initial Advice & Guidance
• Experience in apprenticeship coaching or a related field.
• Strong understanding of apprenticeship standards and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
• Strong organizational and time management skill
Oversees equivalent qualifications will also be considered.
