Axcis education are looking for a Technology/Construction Instructor to teach in an alternative provision with secondary pupils in a workshop environment. You must have experience in the industry and be confident working with young people or come from a teaching background.
Your role as a vocational instructor is to teach the pupils how the workforce runs, including brick laying, plumbing, woodwork, painting and decorating, and Design Technology skills, while instilling a passion for the industry. You will teach the early stages of the profession which can lead to apprenticeship opportunities. (You do not have to be confident in all skills but have at least one construction skill.)
All pupils are at risk of exclusion and have struggled in a school setting. The workshop principles are to build confidence, manage behaviour, and teach self-awareness in their personal struggles to understand how they can communicate and achieve in society. As an instructor, you will work alongside the programmes taught and adapt to the pupils' own educational health care plans.
Do not worry if you are new to this; you have the summer holidays to prepare and a leadership team to guide you and help you with resources and previous planning.
The rate of pay is from £100 - £130 per day, working from 8:30 to 3:30 pm, 5 days a week. This is a long-term role with the opportunity leading to a permanent position directly with the school. Interviews are taking place next week, so please apply or call me ASAP!
