The Role: The School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, seeks to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Electrical Power Engineering. We offer a portfolio of degrees in electrical and electronic engineering, renewable energy, electrical power engineering, robotics and artificial intelligence, and mechanical engineering. These are supported by our new multi-million-pound robotics and artificial intelligence, energy and space engineering laboratories.
At an institutional level, Portsmouth was rated Gold in the UK Government’s Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and ranked in the top 20 UK universities for overall student satisfaction in the National Student Survey (NSS). The Economist also rates the University of Portsmouth as number one in the UK for boosting graduate salaries, with 97.5 per cent of graduates working, or in further study six months after they graduated.
We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and highly motivated member of staff who will make a difference in the education of future generations of engineers. The post holder will undertake teaching, tutorial and practical work supervision and the development of learning activities. This includes the design, delivery and administration of assessment and contributing to the excellent pastoral care across the school. Knowledge and expertise in embedded systems and FPGA is essential. The post holder will also be able to supervise final year and master's projects.
There will be opportunities to gain a recognised HE teaching qualification if appropriate. Interviews are anticipated week 17 January 2025.
