Job Description
Trainee Management
Management of students, including delivering arrival briefings and supporting their integration.
Monitor and address student needs throughout their training journey, providing guidance on welfare, academic performance, and discipline.
Act as a key contact for trainees with specific learning difficulties, implementing and managing Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
Support Trainee Review Boards, providing recommendations for student progress and interventions.
Training Standards & Delivery
Ensure training programs meet high standards and align with organisational goals.
Analyse feedback and performance trends to improve training quality.
Liaise with staff and lecturers, civilian and military, to address training delivery issues and student performance concerns.
Oversee remedial training for students and manage recovery programmes as needed.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all students.
Manage reports related to students performance, welfare, and progress.
Collate and report monthly training statistics and outcomes.
Review Boards & Interventions
Convene and lead Training Review Boards to resolve training challenges, including assessment failures and welfare concerns.
Develop and implement action plans to support students through challenges and improve outcomes.
Staff Development & Liaison
Work with the School Senior Burnham Lecturer, Lead Lecturer to support professional development (CPD) for instructors and staff.
Manage contractor lecturers and ensure effective integration into the training environment.
Act as a liaison for students requiring additional academic or personal support.

Qualifications
The entry requirements to the SIO Group are that candidates should have served a recognised STEM apprenticeship or a relevant alternative period of training and to have obtained a relevant STEM National Qualification. Candidates for training subjects where specific formal qualifications do not exist will be considered provided that they have undergone appropriate training for that trade or subject. Additionally, candidates must have at least 5 years relevant practical experience in that trade or specialism.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
‘London locations may attract locational allowances. The ‘Inner London Weighting RRA Allowance’ is £3,250 per annum and the ‘Outer London Weighting RRA Allowance’ is £1,750 per annum.

Selection process details
