ABOUT THE ROLE We have an exciting new vacancy at the College for an Engineering Lecturer. The purpose of this role is to deliver outstanding Engineering provision to a wide range of full-time learners and apprentices, through an exceptional student experience leading to positive achievement outcomes. The role is predominantly at level 3 and above engineering theory with particular focus on Maths & Electrical / Electronic topics. The role will undertake a range of administrative and development duties that contributes to improving standards and achievements and the learner experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Deliver and teach engineering subjects to Level 1, 2, 3 full time students and apprentices to agreed success targets. Deliver and teach T-Level Engineering to full time to agreed success targets. Deliver and teach engineering subjects to Level 4 and/or 5 part time students, as required, to agreed success targets. Regularly review and monitor the attendance and progress of learners and follow up as required to ensure learners achieve their targets. Carry out, collate and feedback initial and/or diagnostic assessments to identify students’ ILP and support as required, providing differentiated learning strategies to enable students to achieve their primary learning goal. Provide assignment and assessment material appropriate to each specific programme. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE Qualifications and training Teaching qualification, e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE or DTLLs, or a firm commitment to achieve a Diploma in Education and Training (DET) Relevant Vocational Qualification at Level 4 (Mechanical Engineering) (e.g. NVQ Level 4/Level 4 Work-based Diploma, HNC) Assessment/Assessing/Assessor Qualifications (A1, TAQA, CAVA) Skills and expertise Experience of teaching Computer Aided Design up to Level 3 (AutoCad, Autodesk Inventor) Strong occupational history and competence within the Engineering sector with extensive and in-depth knowledge
