Training and Planning Manager
Location: THORPE PARK Resort, KT16 8PN
Hours: 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday – Some weekend work needed.
Salary: £40,000
Reporting to the Training and Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for the management, delivery and development of all compulsory and non-compulsory training programmes to all maintenance personnel within Technical Services. Training will encompass Ride Specific Competency Training, Statutory Training, Merlin mandated Safety Training and THORPE Park internal training and Development Courses.
Responsibilities
- To create, develop and deliver Mandatory and Non-Mandatory training programmes that ensure all Technical Services personnel receive necessary training and development within agreed timeframes, ensuring necessary levels of competence are achieved, recorded and sustained.
- Drive standards of training compliance within specified timescales along with recovery plans in the event of overdue training.
- To deliver Ride Specific Competence Training in-line with business priorities, overseeing training and performance progression, in adherence to The Safety Competency Policy Ride Engineering HS(P)014.
- Managing Engineer Training Content and Assessment Criteria for all 8 modules for each ride device that they have been assigned to.
- To ensure compliance is met and suitable training is being delivered and planned for all departments within Technical Services: Facilities, Landscape and Engineering.
- Oversee the Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme in adherence to Engineering Apprentices (GE(G)002) and maintaining a well established working relationship with the Engineering Academy and college.
- Arrange for ad-hoc on-site/remote Ride Manufacturer Training.
Qualifications & Experience
- You'll have line management of the Technical Trainer to deliver training to develop operational resilience
- Line management of Apprentices including regular 1-2-1's objective setting, mid/end of year reviews, college performance meetings
- Experience with driving KPIs
- Experience with developing Technical Competency Frameworks
- A good understanding of reviewing safety procedures within an Engineering department and compliance with ADIPS, HSG175 and Group policy (HS001)

This role is a full-time role, averaging 40 hours per week. Although this is largely a Monday-Friday role, due to the nature of the business this will include weekends, bank holidays and some late evenings as required.
