The new
Department of Media, Culture and Creative Industries draws together academic staff specialising in Advertising, Creative Writing, Cultural and Creative Industries, English, Media and Communications, Marketing Communication, Media Management, Media Production, Publishing, PR and Strategic Communication. The department is committed to maintaining the high quality of our teaching. Responsibilities
Candidates should be able to teach and design modules in a way that is industry-focused and socially relevant. Specifically, the successful candidate will be able to teach most or all of the following modules on our BA Media and Communications and our MA Media and Communications degrees:
- Digital Distribution and Platforms (UG, Y2)
- Writing for Media and Communications (UG, Y2)
- Global Media Industries (MA)
- Media Ethics (UG, Y3; MA)
- Understanding Media and Communications (UG, Y1)
- Researching Media and Communications (UG, Y1)
Person Specification
The successful applicant will have a good first degree in Media (or a closely related field) and industry-derived expertise related to Media. Although the precise specialism of the successful candidate’s expertise is open, this expertise should either bolster the Department’s existing strengths in Media or complement our existing strengths in Media in innovative ways.
We are looking for a team player and an enthusiastic and committed teacher able to engage and enthuse a diverse student body.
