Job Details
We are seeking to appoint a passionate and skilled Lecturer specialising in Web and Mobile Application Development to contribute to the teaching and delivery of our new Computer Science programme. This teaching-focused role will be central to creating a modern, industry-aligned curriculum that prepares students for careers in app development and digital innovation.
The successful candidate will have:
- Expertise in web and mobile application development, with strong programming skills and practical experience in designing, building, and deploying full-stack web applications as well as native and hybrid mobile apps.
- Up-to-date knowledge of critical, practical, and theoretical issues in web and mobile technologies, including UI/UX design, backend integration, and cloud-based solutions.
- A degree in Computer Science (or a related field) or significant industry experience in app development.
- Experience of teaching, training, or supervising students or professionals, ideally at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to design and deliver innovative modules that emphasise practical skills, emerging technologies, and industry needs. You will also play a key role in supporting students' professional development through real-world projects and placements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging modules in web and mobile application development, ensuring alignment with industry trends.
- Provide high-quality teaching and learning experiences that inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
- Supervise student projects, including app development-focused dissertations or capstone projects.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Computer Science programme, including accreditation with professional bodies (e.g., BCS).
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the programme’s industry relevance and employability focus.
- Support students’ learning through personal tutoring and academic guidance.
