About the role: Careers Adviser
Activate Learning have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Careers Adviser to join our Careers team to provide impartial information, advice and guidance. You will be supporting young people to learn about the world of work and to plan their next steps.
In this incredibly rewarding role, every day is different. You could be:
- Delivering Career Planning and Options workshops ?
- Working with students on their UCAS or Apprenticeship applications
- Supporting students in their job search and application process
- Collaborating with faculty to deliver the college Careers Education programme
And of course, at the heart of our support, providing impartial guidance meetings.
There are two roles available at our Guildford campus - please state in your application which of the below roles you are applying for.
The first is a part-time role working 22.5 hours per week (0.60 FTE).
The second is a part-time role working 22.5 hours per week (0.60 FTE) - term-time only.
Both requirements are based at Guildford College, with occasional travel to other campuses to support with events.
Annual salary range between £32,012 - £33,959 pro rata, depending on experience.
What do you need to be a successful Careers Adviser at Activate Learning?
We are looking for a qualified careers guidance professional with excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- L6 qualification in Careers Guidance.
- Experience of delivering interactive workshops.
- Experience of delivering 1-1 guidance meetings and SMART action plans
- Knowledge of qualification types and pathways
- An understanding of the Gatsby benchmarks and the CDI framework.
In addition, you will have the ability to develop effective relationships with students, staff, employers, and other external partners to assist our delivery of a varied careers education programme.
