Overall Purpose
We are seeking a motivated and experienced trainer to join our Compliance team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering training to various teams within Valpak, both in person and over teams, you will also conduct one-on-one coaching sessions with frontline staff, assisting them in working through case studies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in training, and the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable learning experiences.
Key Accountabilities
Design and Deliver Training
• Work with the Technical Trainer to develop and deliver engaging, relevant, and tailored training sessions for different teams across Valpak. Sessions
will cover technical knowledge of the Waste Regulations, and also practical knowledge of Valpak’s internal processes.
• Organise and help run offsite training days, ensuring a dynamic and interactive learning environment.
• Create training materials, including presentations, handouts, and digital resources.
• Create resources for Valpak’s learning management system (LMS) platform and roll the use of this out to compliance
Case Study Coaching
• Provide personalised coaching sessions to Environment Compliance Advisors and Account Managers, working through case studies of data
submissions from members.
• Work with individuals to assess knowledge gaps and improve their practical application of compliance regulations.
Quality Control
• Assist in the compliance quality control process. Where team member’s work is checked by a senior member of staff to assess accuracy.
Training Needs Assessment
• Collaborate with team leaders and managers across the business to identify ongoing training needs and adjust programs accordingly.
• Provide recommendations for the development of additional training content based on staff feedback and performance observations.
• Assess Environment Compliance Advisor’s performance at probation meetings
Compliance Updates & Best Practices
• Stay up to date on changes to compliance regulations, ensuring training content is current and accurate.
• Promote and reinforce best practices in compliance across all teams, encouraging a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
• Track training progress and outcomes, including individual performance and overall team development.
• Provide regular reports to management on training effectiveness, staff progress, and areas for improvement.
Deliver Workshops
• Assist with the creation of workshop slides to train members on the regulations
• Present at both online and in person workshops.
Requirements
• Experience delivering training to diverse teams, both in-person and virtually.
• Experience working within a technical field, where intricate knowledge is required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with staff at all levels.
• Ability to break down complex compliance topics and explain them in a clear, accessible manner.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple training schedules and priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing training needs.
• UK Driving Licence
Desirable
• Knowledge of the UK Waste Regulations
• Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and training software
