Role: Clinical Professor/Senior Lecturer in PsychiatryDepartment: School of MedicineGrade: Clinical Senior LecturerResponsible to: Foundation Dean of School of Medicine at UU/Clinical Lead in WHSCTCampus: Derry~Londonderry campus/Altnagelvin Area Hospital(Permanent/Full-Time)Job Purpose: To lead and develop education in the new School of Medicine, with a focus on Psychiatry. The appointee might undertake clinical or translational research in line with the Faculty’s research strategy, which would align with clinical research undertaken in the Western Health and Social Care Trust; but the chief focus of the post is the pursuit of educational excellence, thus research interests might include pedagogic research. With the School of Medicine focused on the education of Northern Ireland's future doctors, the post holder will provide Psychiatry leadership and education working closely with an expanding team of Psychiatry Tutors within the Trust and across Northern Ireland. As an experienced practising clinician, the appointee will act as an inspirational role model for medical students. It is also anticipated the post holder will contribute to other aspects of the MBBS programme.
