Job Title: Rail Engineering Technician Assessor (Competency)

Overview Reaseheath College is a forward thinking and dynamic College providing an excellent educational experience to over 4,500 students a year. The Apprenticeships Department oversees a range of apprenticeships at Reaseheath College, from Level 2 (intermediate) through to Level 5 (degree) in courses from Agriculture through to Food Technologist, or Rail Engineering.
About the role A fixed term casual opportunity has arisen to join our team as an Assessor for the Rail Engineering L3 Competency aim. This role is on a casual fixed term basis for up to 100 hours at a rate of £25 per hour to cover planned absence in the team. We envisage that the role will be required until the end of May 2025.
Key responsibilities:- Undertake assessment of the evidence submitted by Apprentices.
- Plan and prepare assessment activity according to the awarding organisation requirements and the college’s assessment strategy.
- Support and guide Apprentices through the evidence requirements.
- Undertake assessment decisions and provide Apprentices with developmental feedback, advice and support to help them meet the requirements of their qualification.
- Work with IQA to ensure assessment practices are standardised; attend standardisation meetings.
The successful candidate will:- GCSE Math & English Grade C / Level 4 or equivalent.
- L2 ICT qualification or equivalent experience / demonstrable skills.
- TAQA qualification (Assessor Coach) with experience in the Rail Sector.
- Ability to produce, present, review and interpret data.
- Knowledge or experience of working with Awarding / End Point Assessment Organisations is desirable.
