The Department of Sports Development and Recreation at the University of Bath seeks to utilise the power of sport to foster the best environment to enable individuals to thrive.
We are seeking a Finance Manager with the necessary qualifications and relevant experience to lead the department finance team and support all budget holders with appropriate advice and guidance.

The Department manages and organises a range of activities under the University’s sports brand - Team Bath - and aspires to create a world leading multi-sport environment delivering to elite athletes, staff and students of the University and the local and regional community. Based in the inspiring Sports Training Village, the Department offers a wide range of high quality sports activities, programmes, events, services and facilities catering for all ages and abilities.

About The Role
As well as overseeing the day-to-day financial processes of the department to ensure compliance with all regulations, you will be responsible for the creation of:
- monthly budget reports
- quarterly forecasts
- the financial elements of the annual planning processes
You will lead on establishing and reviewing processes and procedures that support the department's commercial activities and, as part of the Senior Management Team, work with colleagues on the delivery of strategic plans and act as a point of contact for the central Finance Office for financial matters.
The Ideal Candidate Is AAT Level 4 Qualified Or Has Equivalent, Relevant Professional Experience And a Track Record Of Financial Administration Including Budget Management, Planning And Forecasting. You Will Need To Be Able To
- analyse and present complex data
- communicate this confidently both orally and in writing
- think strategically
- contribute to the development and implementation of new policies
- have proven skills in using financial management software
