We're recruiting for a
Lecturer-Art & Design to join our Creative & Performing Arts team on a full time, permanent basis.
The salary scale for this role is £25,494 - £44,526 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting, depending on qualifications and experience.
The Role;
Plan, teach and assess on one or more of the courses delivered within cultural & Creative Industries sector, ranging from level 1 to Level 5, or serviced, by the curriculum area and contribute to the development of existing and new, innovative provision, including the implementation of motivational, flexible and blended learning and cost effective teaching and learning styles.
You should have experience of general Art and Design practice and knowledge/understanding of contemporary and historical Art and Design practice. Experience of Adobe Creative Suite is desirable and working knowledge on both PC and Apple Mac software is essential.
Key responsibilities of ourLecturer-Art & Design;
- Plan and develops lessons, including the development of schemes of work
- Develop and implement learner-centred assessment methods, with focus on constructive and development feedback for our students
- Encourage, monitor and report on the attendance, progress and achievements of students
- Ensure safe working environments for students and colleagues, enforce health and safety standard in your area, ensuring all students understand and comply
- Undertake personal coaching and pastoral responsibilities for designated students in order to support them int heir own development and future progression
- Keep abreast of industry developments in your specialist area to ensure the relevance and continued employability of our students
- Actively participate in continuing professional development around theory and practice within the education sector
Our ideal Lecturer-Art & Design should have the following qualifications, skills and experience;
- Hold a teaching qualification and have experience of teaching in the Further or Higher Education sectors
- Have a degree or equivalent qualification in a subject relevant to the courses delivered in digital media.
- Have recent and relevant experience of teaching the subject to learners from Level 1 to Level 6 higher education.
- Have a level 3 qualification in the subject relevant to the course you will be delivering, and be prepared to undertake a Further Education teaching qualification with our support, as part of our Passport to Teaching programme
