Calex is a specialist training and consultancy organisation contracted to a number of market leading automotive manufacturers. We are currently seeking to recruit a Functional Skills Tutor to join the Mercedes-Benz Apprenticeship Programme Administration Team.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and motivated Functional Skills Tutor, with a passion for teaching. They will be responsible for delivering English and maths Functional Skills qualifications at levels 1 and 2 to apprentices both remotely and at the Mercedes-Benz Training Centre in Milton Keynes.
The Apprenticeship Programme is responsible for the development of hundreds of apprentices across the Mercedes-Benz Car and Van retail networks in the UK.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Teaching English and maths functional skills at levels 1 and 2
- Develop and deliver a plan to support learners to achieve their respective qualifications
- Conducting initial assessments, diagnostic assessments and administering exams
- Assess learning, and ensure exam readiness
- Recording of assessments and completion of Awarding Body paperwork
- Provide remote learning support and motivate learners in their studies
- Prepare and use suitable teaching and learning materials which take into account differentiation and individual learning styles
- Use a range of appropriate delivery methodologies
- Maintain accurate records as required for examinations, all assessed work and report on learner progress when required
Salary & Benefits
- Up to £32,350 depending on experience
- Holiday - 25 days + Bank Holidays (pro rata)
To be considered, suitable candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- A relevant Teaching Qualification (Essential)
- A subject specialism in English or maths (Highly Desirable)
- A minimum level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics (Essential)
- Experience of delivering Functional Skills English and maths up to level 2 (Essential)
Normal place of work: Mercedes-Benz Apprentice Academy, Delaware Drive, Tongwell, Milton Keynes.
Employment Status: Full Time (Monday to Friday), 35 hours per week
