The Associate Lead for year 5 will be part of the MBChB Programme Teaching and Learning Academic Team supporting the senior leadership team in ensuring delivery of the Year 5 programme is to the highest standard.
The associate academic lead should have a good working knowledge of the MBChB year 5 programme. They will work with the year 5 academic lead, wider year 5 programme team and the CEC teams in shaping, improving and evaluating the year 5 programme. In addition, the associate lead will help to ensure that all taught content is reviewed and updated appropriately by relevant academic staff. They will be a key member of the Year 5 emendation group with the assessment team. They will work to enhance the experience for students by improving the quality of year 5 through the sharing and implementation of good practice.
They are expected to be a practicing physician/surgeon with a primary medical qualification on the specialist register / GP register with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the speciality and have evidence of leadership qualities with a track record of involvement in undergraduate or postgraduate medical education.
