RoleWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Teacher of Digital to deliver high-quality teaching across Level 1 & 2 Digital (Gateway specification) and Level 3 T-Level Digital. The ideal candidate will have strong programming expertise and a passion for teaching digital skills, with a particular focus on Python, Flask, and HTML. A broad knowledge of coding languages and software development will be essential to effectively support students across different levels.

Levelling up premium payments for FE teachersAttention all eligible FE teachers! Are you looking to level up your career and earn more while teaching specific courses? You may be eligible to claim a levelling-up premium payment for teaching courses in building and construction, chemistry, computing, early years, engineering and manufacturing, maths, and physics. The payment ranges from £2,000 to £6,000 depending on your provider and the number of hours you teach. - Deliver engaging and effective lessons across Level 1 & 2 Digital (Gateway specification) and Level 3 T-Level Digital courses.
- Teach Python, Flask, and HTML, ensuring students develop both fundamental and advanced programming skills.
- Provide a broad range of coding knowledge, covering languages such as JavaScript, CSS, SQL, and additional frameworks where relevant.
- Support students in learning web development, back-end frameworks, and software development principles.
- Design and deliver lessons that combine theory and practical application, enabling students to develop real-world digital solutions.
- Ensure students gain industry-relevant skills, preparing them for progression into higher education, apprenticeships, or employment in the digital sector.
- Assess and provide constructive feedback on student work, ensuring progress is effectively monitored.
- Work closely with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and stay up to date with emerging digital technologies.
- Support students through project-based learning, incorporating real-world coding challenges and problem-solving activities.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and online safety, ensuring students understand the ethical responsibilities of working with digital technologies.
Essential Criteria
- Qualified teacher status (QTS), PGCE, or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience in teaching programming and digital skills at Level 1, Level 2 (Gateway), and Level 3 T-Level Digital.
- Strong practical knowledge of Python, Flask, and HTML, with the ability to teach both beginners and advanced learners.
- A broad knowledge of coding and experience in multiple programming languages (e.g. JavaScript, SQL, C++, Java).
- Understanding of software development, web applications, and cloud-based technologies.
- Experience designing and delivering interactive and engaging digital lessons.
- Ability to support students in problem-solving, debugging, and writing efficient code.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to assess and track student progress effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to the development of an outstanding Digital curriculum.
- Passion for preparing students for careers in digital industries, with knowledge of relevant industry trends and employment pathways.
