HMP Elmley Education Department have an exciting new opportunity for a Learning Facilitator to join their Milton Keynes College Prison Services team.
You will work collaboratively with the Curriculum Manager and wider education and prison teams to promote, facilitate and support access to learning that maximises engagement and progression, including the user of the Virtual campus for learning, resettlement and employment. You will also support learners who take part in distance learning, with the administration and completion of their courses.
The ideal candidate will have excellent IT skills and experience of supporting students / delivering information sessions. You will be an enthusiastic, creative person who can support our learners through their engagement to education.

ABOUT HMP Elmley
HMP Elmley is a Category B local and remand prison, holding approximately 1,200 adult male sentenced offenders.
HMP Elmley is the largest of three prisons beside the village of Eastchurch. It sits alongside HMP Swaleside (Long term High Security) and HMP Standford Hill (Open D-cat) as part of the Sheppey prisons cluster.
HMP Elmley’s focus is firmly fixed on reducing reoffending and preventing future victims of crime by preparing offenders for their release through accredited intervention programmes, skill and vocational based training and education, in a pro social environment.
Courses at HMP Elmley include Maths, English, ESOL, Peer Mentoring, Barista and Food Safety. A bespoke Projects course supports specific cohorts and hard to reach learners, whilst there are dedicated inclusion practitioners, induction facilitators, a reading and engagement specialist and pastoral lead and much more.
The education delivery hours are Monday to Thursday 08:50am - 11.20am, 13.50pm - 4.20pm and on Fridays 8.50am - 11.20am, with staff working on-site 8:15am - 4:45pm each day Monday to Thursday and 8:15am - 1:45pm on Fridays. Class sizes typically range from 8-12 learners.
There is free parking available in a secure staff parking area or commuter access is reached via bus routes with the closest train station being Sheerness.
