You will report into the Group Learning and Development Manager and work with the HSE and Occupational Health (OH) leads to equip our employees with the necessary HSE skills and knowledge. You will develop, deliver, and maintain a variety of HSE courses across all British Engines businesses, ensuring compliance with IOSH, NEBOSH, and IEMA accreditation standards and ensuring colleagues have a safe environment to work in and the appropriate health and safety knowledge for their role.
What you’ll be doing
- Use a risk-based approach to identify and prioritise HSE training requirements.
- Align the HSE training strategy with company goals and objectives.
- Plan and deliver bespoke and standard training courses for maximum impact.
- Innovate training delivery methods to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
- Evaluate training through structured feedback and apply the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle.
- Self-manage resources and time to meet action plans.
- Issue certificates post-training and maintain up-to-date training materials.
- Coordinate with local management to plan training schedules, minimising production impact.
- Utilise the HR and Learning Management Systems for training documentation and competency matrices.
- Ensure timely delivery of mandatory training and refreshers.
- Identify and report HSE improvement opportunities, recommending corrective actions.
- Produce data analytics and KPIs for monitoring and measuring training outcomes,
- Attend relevant continuous professional development training and maintain personal qualifications and accreditations.
- Promote safe working practices and lead by example in compliance with company policies.
Who we are looking for
You will have at least two years of training experience, with comprehensive knowledge of HSE legislation and best practices. You should be confident in delivering presentations to large groups and one-on-one training sessions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in time management, organisation, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint.
Essential qualifications include a City and Guilds Train the Trainer certificate or equivalent. A higher-level training qualification and NEBOSH General Certificate are desirable. Familiarity with ISO45001 and ISO14001 standards, as well as IOSH and IEMA memberships, are advantageous.
A full UK driving licence and own transport are required due to travel between sites in the Northeast of England.
