About us
The Periodontology unit at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute is highly active both in research and education. The research group is devoted to the development, evaluation and clinical application of new diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic approaches for periodontal diseases and oral implantology. Basic science laboratories are also actively engaged in fundamental research relevant to periodontology and implantology.
About the role
The post-holder is responsible to the Head of Periodontology and accountable to the Institute Director, Professor Dave Spratt. For clinical matters the post holder will report to the Clinical Lead in Periodontology, Mr Kalpesh Patel.
The post-holder will play an active role in supporting and expanding clinical research within Periodontology, and strengthening collaborative activities within UCL.
They will liaise with the Director of Clinical Research to establish appropriate translational research themes according to the Institute’s priorities and comply with the Trust and University Regulations in line with patient care and adhere to governance requirements.
The post-holder must have completed a specialist training programme in Periodontology and have experience of postgraduate and clinical teaching. Experience of clinical care in the field of periodontology is a must and we would like the post-holder to have a strong working knowledge of current trends and developments in the dental profession, particularly relating to Restorative Dentistry.
This post is offered part-time at 14.6 hours, working 2 days per week (0.40 Full Time Equivalent).
Starting salary offered in the range of £23,632.40 – 26,578.40 (i.e. 40% of £59,081 - £66,446) per annum including London Allowance. Salary on appointment is subject to experience.

About you
The postholder must have a masters (or equivalent) qualification in Periodontology.
They must have experience of delivering postgraduate teaching in Periodontology and be registered with the General Dental Council or be eligible to register.
The post-holder will be required to have a Disclosure and Barring Service Assessment.
