About the role
The School of Medicine is seeking an experienced clinical academic to join our team as the Professional Development 2 (PD2) Lead within the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) Clinical Medicine course. This role offers the unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the next generation of junior doctors during one of the most crucial periods of their education.
The Professional Development 2 period is an essential component of the final year of the BMBS Clinical Medicine course. The professional development may include a traditional clinical elective attachment abroad or it may be focused on a student’s self-identified personal development needs in the UK or oversees. Together, the apprenticeship and personal development attachment enhance the student preparation for practice and professional growth.
The PD2 lead will report to the Deputy Head of Education and BMBS Programme Director at the University of Nottingham, but will liaise closely with the Nottingham and Lincoln final year clinical module leads (Advance Practice) and the professional services team in the Education Centre who offer administrative support
