We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Service Leader to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and leadership qualities, enabling them to guide our service delivery while ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Overall Responsibility:
Under the line management of the Managing Director, this role will be to support the day to day IT function, operational aspects, project work and assist with pre-sales as technical lead.
Main Duties / Responsibilities:
Maintain, monitor and development of ED-UK Technologies customer environments.
Supporting the job ticket environment in supported schools and businesses.
Infrastructure and Cloud
Experience of the following is essential:
- Windows Desktop and Application Support
- Windows Server installation and management
- In depth knowledge and experience managing Switches and Access points.
- Active directory and group policy management
- Virtualisation installation and management (VMware and Hyper V)
- Experience of network storage infrastructure, SAN & NAS setups and support.
- Managing Firewall Technologies
- Deployment and support of VOIP technologies.
- Cloud backup solutions including but not limited to Veeam.
- Knowledge and experience of managing M365 including Identity, Exchange, SharePoint and Entra.
- Cyber Security and GDPR knowledge and awareness
Additionally:
- Assist the company directors in recruiting, motivating, training and developing staff to maintain an effective workforce capable of meeting its objectives.
- Maintaining customers systems and solutions in order to fulfil their educational remit.
- Assist the company directors in implementing and providing a defined apprenticeship scheme to assist in providing a cost effective and skilled workforce.
- Deliver a responsive and effective daily support service to meet the needs of customer requirements.
- To assist in the development of the strategic IT plan to support the Company vision. Helping to identify potential new customers and developing new technologies.
- To play a full part in promoting the company well-being culture.
- Deal with support requests, log incidents and deal with any requests within an acceptable time frame.
- Ensuring effective performance and ICT service provision to minimise disruption to ED-UK Technologies customers.
- Provide user support to identify and respond promptly to routine system or process issues.
- To adhere to and promote the Business corporate policies.
- To be responsible for own health and safety and that of staff, in accordance with the Health and Safety policies to ensure wellbeing of all people on site.

Person Specification
- Educated to degree level or similar industry qualification in an IT\Networking field
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Servers and desktop operating systems.
- Knowledge of Networking technologies, specifically HP and Cisco based.
- Management experience in leading a small team within an IT environment.
- Significant knowledge of data security/protection requirements within a multi-user environment.
- Knowledge of AD, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy Management
- Knowledge and experience of supporting VOIP environments
- The ability to work within multiple customer\school premises across a large geographical area.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate internally and externally.
- The ability to work on own initiative and prioritise to the customer support requirements.
- The ability to work confidently in small and large teams.
