We are looking for dynamic Employment Job Coach to join our vibrant Employability and Skills Team on our DFN ProjectSEARCH programme. Key Responsibilities:
In this exciting and varied role, you will:
- Support Interns: Help our interns from varied backgrounds/locations to access and sustain work placement opportunities to aid with progression in to employment.
- Holistic Approach: Work with our two cohorts of interns, providing comprehensive support in 1-to-1 and group settings, as well as in their work placements.
- Collaborative Engagement: Build and utilise your knowledge of local employers to help with intern progression whilst on placement. Work alongside the Employment Key Worker and partners on these programmes to ensure full support and coverage of intern and placement needs at both sites.
What You Need:
- Qualifications: SCQF Level 5 in Advice, Guidance, Social Welfare or Community Learning & Development related discipline or a related field. However, we also welcome applicants with relevant experience who can demonstrate equivalent skills.
- Experience: Proven experience working with young people and adults, either individually or in groups, is essential.
- Desirable Knowledge: Familiarity with a wide range of support services, the employability sector, and the welfare system is a plus, though training will be provided.

- Driving Licence: A current driving licence is essential.
- Funding: This position is funded until March 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension based on future funding.
This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
