What you’ll do:
• This role is electrical and mechanical assembly and covering testing-based engineering apprenticeship. Where the successful candidate will learn all aspects of assembling, testing which will include, IPC and J standard solder training or certificate.
• Apprentices will learn the application of the Eaton Aerospace parts portfolio which cover Airbus Commercial Jets, Boeing Commercial Jets and Combat Aircraft. Parts manufactured include Motors and Actuators, Stators, Shaft and Rotors.
• Apprentices will have scope to explore their own interests. Eaton encourages all employees to develop to their full potential.
• Apprentices will follow a robust rotational plan where they will have the support of the dedicated Apprenticeship Team to ensure their learning journey is exciting, engaging, and successful in line with their educational studies.
Essential Functions:
• Manufacture of Aerospace components using a variety of assembly and test techniques.
• With the support of Eaton, successfully complete an engineering apprenticeship through a local college or provider
• Full training will be provided by Eaton
Qualifications:
• GCSE (grade C or above desirable) in English, Mathematics, and one or more Sciences (equivalent experience considered)
Skills:
• Direct experience of and/or demonstrated interest in making things or getting things made from your own personal efforts, i.e. in a workshop, or equivalent position.
• Demonstrated interest in and understanding of mechanical engineering, especially in systems for which safety and reliability are essential, e.g. aerospace.
• Candidates should be able to demonstrate a degree of mechanical understand/interest, whether through hobbies or previous experience
• An ability to work with written instructions, drawings, and through practical instruction.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using email and formal written reports
• Basic IT skills such as Excel and Word are preferred
• A-Levels (or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
