Do you want to build your career in the creative sector? Are you looking for an apprenticeship where you can develop and grow? Are you someone who’s always looking to learn, has infectious enthusiasm, great communication skills and an eye for detail?
If the answer is yes, then we have great apprenticeships for you in Edinburgh, starting in September 2025.
Hi, we’re Emperor…
We’re one of the UK’s leading employee-owned creative communications agencies. We help our clients – some of the country’s best-known businesses – to connect with their stakeholders to achieve great things.
We employ hundreds of diverse, talented and experienced people, with offices in Edinburgh, Birmingham, London, Manchester and Dubai.
We’re working with Visionpath – specialists in helping to connect diverse talent with great careers – to deliver our RISE apprenticeship programme.
RISE exists to unlock your future in the creative sector, through access to our exciting apprenticeship opportunities. This year, we’re looking for Junior Artworker apprentices to join our team in Edinburgh.
The apprenticeship:
You might not have heard of an Artworker before, but it’s a critical role in bringing to life the work we create and deliver for our clients. Things like annual reports; a critical piece of communication that our clients use to tell the story to investors and other stakeholders on how their business has performed in the previous year.
As a Junior Artworker apprentice, you’ll be learning the role as you work on real client projects. Reporting to the Studio Manager or Head of Artwork, you’ll be part of a team whose role is to:
- Ensure our work is delivered on time, every time.
- Oversee the project workflow – the process from creating artwork, to revisions and amendments, to final product delivery both digital and in-print.
- Prepare interactive PDFs and high-quality artwork for printing.
- Work with a variety of design tools and programs – like Adobe InDesign and Workiva – to bring artwork to life and ensure it’s accurate and of the highest quality.
The role is varied and it’s important that you collaborate with others, work well in a team, but also can work independently.
You don’t need to be someone with an artistic or design background – what we’re looking for is someone who can work to deadlines, is highly-organised, isn’t afraid to ask questions and seek input from others, has high levels of attention-to-detail and can work well with colleagues to get a project completed on time. We’ll train you in all the tools and programs you’ll need to use, so you can build your career as an Artworker.
If that sounds like an opportunity you’d like to explore, we’d love to hear from you.
This role is working in our Edinburgh office, starting in September 2025. Alongside your role you’ll study for a recognised apprenticeship qualification that can help you grow and develop in your future career, all while earning a starting salary of £18,000.
The process:
- If you want to explore the Junior Artworker apprenticeship, then hit apply!
- We’ll review your application and if we’d like to meet you, we’ll invite you to an insight event on Thursday 17th April in Edinburgh. At this event you’ll learn more about the business and the roles, to help you see if it’s a career for you.
- After this insight event you may be invited to an Assessment Day at Emperor’s Edinburgh office in June 2025.
- If we think you have potential to be part of our team, we’ll invite you to interview.
- Successful candidates will be offered roles after interview, to start in September.
If you’d like to find out more about the apprenticeship, please email info@visionpath.co.uk and one of the Visionpath team will be happy to speak with you about the opportunity and answer any questions you may have.
Please note – you will need to have National 5 (A-C) in English and to have completed your Highers (or be completing them now). You will also need to be available to start in role from early September 2025 and to have the right to work in the UK.
We look forward to hearing from you!
